What this is
AQ Closet is an unofficial fan project for previewing AdventureQuest
Worlds outfits. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by
Artix Entertainment.
Nothing here touches your game account. The site never asks for an AQW
password, has no field to type one into, and never logs in as anybody. It
reads the same public character page anyone can open in a browser, and
nothing it shows is bought, equipped or changed in-game.
Game content
AdventureQuest Worlds, its item art, its character model and every other
game asset shown here are the property of Artix Entertainment,
LLC. They are loaded from Artix's own servers, unmodified, and are
used here to show players what their own outfits would look like. No game
file is redistributed or sold, and nothing here is offered as a substitute
for playing the game.
If Artix Entertainment would like any of this removed, ask and it comes
out.
Your submissions
When you submit a character page so an unrecorded item can be added, you
are sharing a page that is already public. What gets kept is the item's
name, file and slot — the catalogue entry — not the character, and not
anything about the person behind it. Ask and any submission of yours comes
out.
Attribution
- This site is an homage to
Dress to Impress,
the Neopets outfit planner by OpenNeo, whose layout and
look it deliberately follows. It shares none of its code, and Dress to
Impress has nothing to do with this project.
- The avatar is drawn in your browser by
Ruffle, © Ruffle LLC and
Ruffle contributors, dual-licensed
MIT or
Apache 2.0 — this page
serves both texts because your browser is sent a copy of Ruffle itself.
- Item names, files and slots come from the community-maintained
AdventureQuest Worlds item spreadsheet. Thank you to everyone who keeps
it up to date. The thumbnails beside them are rendered from the game's
own files, not taken from a fan wiki.
- The server runs on
Express (MIT) and
undici (MIT).
- The title is set in Black Chancery, outlines by
Earl Allen and Doug Miles, released by
their authors into the public domain
(the authors' readme).
- The nameplate is set in Mini 7, © 2001
Joe Gillespie — the pixel font the game client itself
uses, taken from the client so that a recreated nameplate matches the real
one. Used here for that purpose only; ask and it comes out.
This site's own code
The source is not public. Nothing this site is built on requires it to be:
every library here is under a permissive licence, none is copyleft, and the
obligation they do carry — shipping their licence text with the copy your
browser receives — is met above.
No warranty
AQ Closet is provided as-is, with no guarantee that it is available,
accurate or complete. An item may be missing, mis-slotted or drawn wrong;
what the game shows is the truth, and this is a preview.
